Essilor continues to improve lives by improving sight in 2020

Since the start of our social impact efforts in 2013, Essilor has created over 16,800 inclusive business access points, providing over 370 million people with sustainable access to vision care. We have also corrected and protected the vision of over 38 million people.
In 2020, Essilor continued efforts to develop access to visual health for populations at the base of the pyramid through three fundamental pillars: greenfield outlets such as Eye Mitras in India; new philanthropic programs thanks to the creation of mobile clinics; and the structuring of informal optical distribution networks in India and China. We launched a 3-year vision care program to provide 300,000 migrant workers living in dormitories across Singapore with free eye care education and reading glasses.
We also created a revolutionary refraction screening tool called the ClickCheck™. This portable, easy-to-use innovation is affordable and does not require electricity to operate, making vision screening possible anytime, anywhere.
