Supply Chain, France
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR CAREER PATH AT ESSILOR?
Saber Mahjoub: After a 15-year career in industry, I joined the Essilor Group in May 2011 as Head of Supply Chain Planning in the Group’s global supply chain team. Among my current projects, one of the most important is the implementation of a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) for the AMERA zone.
WHAT ARE THE MAIN MISSIONS IN YOUR JOB NOW?
S. M.: Leading a team of project managers in Creteil and in our different overseas platforms who work on tactical and operational control systems in Essilor’s supply chain. I also liaise across all projects to overhaul operational management systems (management software, Lean Management systems…) to accompany the different supply chain or operational managers in defining their needs. I support the business in all new projects that have a significant impact on flows.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT YOUR JOB AND WHAT MAKES YOU PROUD TO WORK AT THE ESSILOR GROUP?
S. M.: The supply chain is there to connect and guide the different industrial manufacturing activities. That makes it a very enriching activity because you’re in contact with all kinds of people across the business. I’m lucky to have a good overview of all other job areas at Essilor. In addition, our supply chain has real global dimension, which makes my job very rewarding culturally, through all the meetings I participate in globally. Essilor is a great industrial adventure with a unique governance model. I’m proud to be part of it and contribute to strengthening this model that I see as a cornerstone in creating a society built on socially-responsible capitalism.
