WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR CAREER PATH AT ESSILOR?
David Asenjo: I started working at Essilor Spain in 1999. I was in charge of technical support for the different prescription laboratories in Spain. In 2007, I moved to Asia Operations Mass Production as Technical Manager in Shanghai Essilor Optical Company Ltd (SEOCL), where I was in charge of Technical Support, Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma activities in the plant. In 2009, I moved to Asia Operations Prescriptions to manage the set up of an Export prescription lab in Shanghai. After the lab was launched, I remained there as Laboratory Manager for three years. In 2013, I came to India as Managing Director of the Prescription Export Laboratory in Bangalore.
WHAT ARE THE MAIN MISSIONS IN YOUR JOB NOW?
D. A.: My main mission is to support Essilor Group’s Prescription strategy. As the Managing Director of a Prescription Export Lab site with almost 700 employees, my job is to align all Essilor Manufacturing India Ltd (EMIL) teams with the Group’s mission to deliver the best products, services, quality and cost to our customers.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT YOUR JOB AND WHAT MAKES YOU PROUD TO WORK AT THE ESSILOR GROUP?
D. A.: My job gives me the opportunity to manage an extraordinary team, full of energy and enthusiasm, striving day after day to improve performance and committed to supporting the Group’s strategy. For me, working for the Essilor Group means sharing its values and contributing to the extraordinary mission of improving lives by improving sight. Being part of this makes me really proud.
