Xperio UV™ Brand Manager, United States
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR CAREER PATH AT ESSILOR?
Meg Weathers: I joined Essilor after being part of a small team of students who participated in an off-site MBA student project. I worked for a few years in Channel Marketing before transitioning over to Product Marketing. The Essilor Group provides different roles in marketing in order to help people grow into well-rounded marketers. I am now a Brand Manager responsible for a small team of people working on one of our product portfolios.
WHAT ARE THE MAIN MISSIONS IN YOUR JOB NOW?
M. W.: Currently I’m tasked with doubling my product portfolio penetration over the next five years. In order to do this, I have to work cross-functionally to develop a long-term portfolio strategy and identify programs and products that can achieve strong growth quickly. I work with a variety of people across the organization in order to understand the market dynamics and develop solutions to respond to them.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT YOUR JOB AND WHAT MAKES YOU PROUD TO WORK AT THE ESSILOR GROUP?
M. W.: I like the variety of roles I have had in the Marketing organization. I have had the opportunity to develop a breadth of experience that I don’t always see in other organizations and learning new facets of the business keeps me interested in my job. I also appreciate the fact that I work for a company that creates products that really have an impact on wearers’ everyday lives and has a commitment to achieving excellence.
