WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR CAREER PATH AT ESSILOR?
Marie Jarrousse: I joined Essilor’s Global Marketing team following studies in engineering and marketing. In addition to managing product development for materials and sun lenses, I’ve been involved in two global product launches. This has given me an A to Z experience of all aspects of marketing – from creating the product offer, communication campaigns to distribution strategy and deployment, liaising notably with R&D, Supply Chain and regional and country marketing teams. I am now a Senior Key Accounts Product Manager in BBGR, the Group’s second distribution network in France.
WHAT ARE THE MAIN MISSIONS IN YOUR JOB NOW?
M. J.: My role has been to support the marketing needs of our Key Accounts like major optical chains through developing customized products, merchandising and communications tools as well as organizing trainings, promotional operations and events. I particularly enjoy the interaction with both ECPs and consumers. Marketing is all about relationships: you’re learning everyday from listening to and working alongside customers, internal experts, specialist agencies and many more.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT YOUR JOB AND WHAT MAKES YOU PROUD TO WORK AT THE ESSILOR GROUP?
M. J.: I really like that at Essilor we start with the needs of our consumers and clients in order to construct a solution around them. That guides all the work of marketing from strategy, product positioning to brand messaging etc. Furthermore, I am particularly proud to work for a company that has a strong mission that resonates with me: improving lives by improving sight. It is much more than selling good products and services to people. It is bringing a better quality of life and well-being to everyone, everywhere.
