Previously, we established our targets for 2020 in key areas of corporate sustainability. These pertain to our Group mission for visual health, reducing our environmental impact, engaging our employees and ensuring responsible sourcing. To continue upholding our commitments, Essilor is currently working on a set of 2025 targets in view of EssilorLuxottica’s sustainability roadmap.
Each target is closely monitored to enable us to track our progress. While a nominated senior manager is responsible for each target, our 74 000 employees are actively engaged and help to contribute to these objectives. The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the deployment of actions to an extent and slowed down the delivery of certain targets. In view of this, the 2020 targets deadline has been extended by a year.
