Essilor’s social impact fund, Vision For Life™, announced a €300,000 financial support scheme to help over 1,800 vulnerable primary vision care providers, whose livelihoods are at risk due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Essilor, through its social impact fund Vision for Life, joined forces and networks with the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile) to provide critical equipment to frontline health workers in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The challenge to provide eye care to the 1 in 3 people who cannot see the world clearly can sometimes seem insurmountable. 90% of people who still suffer from uncorrected poor vision live in developing communities where access to eye care professionals and awareness on the importance of vision in general, is limited.
From ensuring employees’ safety, to providing generous financial support and in-kind donations to support the Wuhan region as well as other areas in need, Essilor Group together with its partner entities have activated quickly to help address the outbreak.
Essilor affirms its ambitions for growth and innovation in China with the opening of its new Center for Innovation & Technologies in Shanghai, the extension of its research partnership with the esteemed Wenzhou Medical University, and its recent success at the China International Import Expo (CIIE) - which drew strong interest from potential partners and stakeholders.
