200 customers from more than 20 countries across four continents travelled to Essilor’s Dallas campus for the ninth SLUGFest international user event held from 8-11 November. Participants had the opportunity to explore Satisloh’s lab of the future, as well as broaden their knowledge and skills through technical and business seminars and hands-on technology sessions.
Set up in a dedicated space at the Dallas campus, the Satisloh Lab 4.0 is a fully connected and automated environment dedicated to smart manufacturing. It features 34 different technologies, including beta and proof of concept solutions, from Satisloh and industry partners. It aims to show how ground-breaking technology can allow labs to work more efficiently and have full transparency and control of each step in the production process.
Over the three-day event, customers also got to see Satisloh’s Express-AR concept in action – an automated coating line involving collaborative robots to speed up the coating process – as well as gain technology insights from key-note speaker and futurist, Scott Klososky, and lens-manufacturing experts.
An Essilor partner since 2008, Satisloh provides complete equipment solutions for ophthalmic and precision optics manufacturing in prescription laboratories or optical chains.
