Going digital: Essilor develops social media training for eye care professionals
Social media are increasingly important channels to reach out to consumers, especially younger customers. Essilor continues to support eye care professionals in exploiting today’s digital opportunities through programs customized for the optics industry.
Essilor Academy Europe is launching next June a new training program aimed at helping eye care professionals hone their communication skills to boost visibility and grow their business through connecting with customers via social media.
74% of people on the internet regularly use social networking sites. Nearly half of eye care professionals say their practice has a Facebook page or Twitter account, although only a third of them are posting occasionally. The training explores the business benefits associated with social media platforms as well as help eye care professionals integrate them into their marketing strategies.
In 2014 Essilor Academy Europe trained over 720 eye care professionals from 15 countries and is part of the Group’s network of industry education and training centres across the world.
