Like many industrial Groups, Essilor has put digitalization at the heart of its strategy – from production, supply chain management to real-time customer-facing services. Over recent years, Essilor has been strengthening its network of internal experts to better serve evolving Group needs for information technology and business process support such as IT applications development and customer support.
Building on the skills and experience of existing IT and Finance teams in the Philippines, Essilor began work in January 2017 to create a new shared service centre. New premises were quickly found, staff recruited and trained by September, ESSPI opened with 160 employees. ESSPI has already obtained a level 3 certification for IT development and services (similar to ISO certification in manufacturing facilities) and plans to ramp up its team to around 200 by year end to provide a range of IT support and financial processing services.
The inauguration in September provided the ideal occasion to celebrate the team efforts in creating this important Group center of expertise. ESSPI staff were joined by senior Essilor managers and local dignitaries from the Philippines Economic Zone Authority and the French Embassy.
On 20 July, Essilor celebrated the official inauguration of the Group’s newest prescription lab in Vietnam.
