The festival, from 10-14th June, will bring together around 11,000 visitors, professionals and general public, to celebrate the visual art of romantic cinema through a selection of films shown in theatres and open air venues. Essilor France will give an Audience Award for the public’s favourite film among 14 featured in competition, with a €5,000 contribution towards its release and distribution in cinemas.
Throughout the event, Essilor also aims to put a focus on visual health. Essilor teams will be teaming up with local opticians to offer free eye tests to festival-goers in order to raise awareness of the importance of vision and protecting the eyes. In parallel, as part of a long-term partnership between Secours Populaire Français and Vision for Life*, 50 children from the Calvados region will also join the festival, to benefit from vision testing and correction and attend a special screening.
