EIPM award for Essilor’s Global Sourcing and Procurement
The EIPM Peter Kraljic awards, created in 2010, honor purchasing services that deliver excellence in terms of creativity, innovation and social and environmental responsibility. Participating companies follow a structured and rigorous process including an on-site audit by professional assessors and evaluation by a jury of experts.
The awards jury, which included industry leaders, academics and expert consultants, recognized Essilor’s focus on stakeholders, innovation and entrepreneurship with an approach that goes well beyond traditional procurement activities: “The human values demonstrated by the team form an asset in a business environment where collaboration is essential.”

Essilor’s Global Sourcing and Procurement organization is a network of over 200 specialists across the globe who work with over 30,000 suppliers. In June 2016, the group’s Supplier Sustainability Program won an industry award for the way Essilor involves suppliers in its mission and sustainability approach to achieve greater positive impact together through responsible sourcing and procurement.
Essilor is one of thirty companies and organizations from across the world to have been recognized for their outstanding practices by the EIPM since 2010. Other 2016 winners included Toyota Motors Europe (Excellence in Supplier Integration), CERN (Innovation and Process Excellence”) and ABB (“Supply Chain Excellence”).
