When suppliers
support our mission

Panalpina was one of fifty Essilor suppliers that jumped at the opportunity to help spread the word about the importance of good vision using Essilor’s World Sight Day campaign.

Road users were a target audience for Essilor’s #PutVisionFirst™ campaign, which highlighted the fact that one in five drivers can’t see the road clearly. Said Lucie Ghio Regional Key Account Manager at Panalpina: “Since we work with drivers, we could really relate to the problem of poor sight and the impact on our transporters. Better vision significantly improves their quality of life and road security.” In Thailand, Panalpina trucks were decked in #PutVisionFirst™ posters as they made their rounds to and from Bangkok airport and city center. In India a free eye-screening at Bangalore’s International Airport with Essilor distributed glasses to drivers, loaders, and ground handling staff.

Essilor’s work in engaging suppliers with the Group’s mission was recognised with a Corporate Social Responsibility Award at the 2017 World Procurement Awards.

  • We believe that if we work hand-in-hand with our suppliers, together we can increase the positive impact of our business in the communities where we work

  • 48 hours after we contacted Group transporters about the Group’s World Sight Day campaign, every single one was on board
