Almost 50 years after the creation of its first progressive lens, Essilor launched a major innovation: Varilux Physio®. This lens derives its unique performance from a patented innovation, Twin Rx Technology™. This technology combines 2 elements:
- wavefront management, a revolutionary system for calculating lens optics
- advanced digital surfacing, a high-precision production technique
Each day, Essilor innovates, and every day, we set out to capture new markets. A single watchword: to improve eyesight around the world.
Expansion
Essilor continues to acquire laboratories around the world, especially in the US where we now have more than a hundred such units.
The Group is also pursuing its policy of establishing subsidiaries in Asia, especially in India, and in the emerging countries of Central and Eastern Europe, which are real levers of growth. Not to mention Russia, where Essilor is also beginning to market its products.
