logistics centers

100% target service!

Essilor logistics are virtually unique in the world.

Managing both mass production and customized production flows simultaneously is a challenge that Essilor logistics teams are confronted with every day.

In 2006, Essilor produced 215 million lenses, with 300,000 different references, delivered to opticians within 24 hours for standard lenses, and in less than four days for more complex prescriptions.

From our 15 production sites and our 244 finishing laboratories spread around the world, we deliver lenses to the planet’s 400,000 opticians. Essilor logistics deploy exceptional resources to deliver the highest level of service to the customers: our aim is to respect 100% of the contractual lead times announced to our customers.

Upstream, production logistics direct a global structure capable of managing our entire product flow, with particular attention paid to new product launches, which are increasingly global in scope. Our goals are extremely demanding: to reduce stock levels and operating costs and to simplify the supply chain to improve service and delivery times.

Downstream, distribution logistics teams permanently manage the balance between sales and stock levels, between customized production flows and purchases, while keeping tight control of distribution costs. Their performance puts Essilor in a better place than the competition.
