Essilor manufacturing plants supply the market and our subsidiaries with finished and semi-finished lenses. 12 of our 15 plants manufacture lenses for distribution across more than one continent, which entails a significant number of logistic flows.

Finished lenses

Both sides of these single-vision lenses are mass-produced in Essilor Group plants. Additional coatings are also applied in the plants:

  • scratch-proof coatings
  • anti-reflective coatings
  • anti-smudge coatings
  • photochromic properties
  • etc.

 

Semi-finished lenses

Only the front side is finished in the plant. Rear sides and coatings are completed later in the prescription laboratories.
