What is your function?

  • Senior Research Scientist working in R&D Optics Singapore, R&D Centre Singapore and I am specialized in vision science.

What does your job consist in?
  • Studying the human visual system in order to improve the quality of vision through ophthalmic lenses.

On which projects or topics are you working on?
  • The two main topics I'm currently working on are Progressive Myopia in children and Visual Fatigue. This includes understanding the underlying causes as well as intervention through ophthalmic lenses.

Or why do these topics are innovative?
  • Instead of simply correcting vision, as most lenses do, the projects I'm working on have also therapeutic aspects, such as slowing the progression of myopia in children to decrease the risk of future visual impairment or relieving visual fatigue to ensure comfortable near work.
